UCB's Communications and Public Affairs team is committed to growing awareness of UCB and our commitment to patient value with internal and external stakeholders through effective communications and public relations strategies.

We seek a Communications Associate to work across corporate communications core functions (digital, internal, external, community engagement). The Communications Associate will be responsible for writing and developing content for internal and external channels, including newsletters, social media, and web content. The candidate should be a motivated self-starter with strong writing and editing skills and enjoy taking on projects, learning new skills, and bringing creativity to strategic communications to achieve results.

Primary Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Develop content for internal and external channels, including newsletters, social media, and web content.
  • Maintain and manage internal digital channels including email platform, digital monitors (Campus Connect), intranet (Plaza), writing weekly employee newsletter (This Week at UCB), and monthly field employee newsletter (Field Focus).
  • Design graphics and related materials as needed, including presentation development for internal and external engagements, including Town Halls, leadership meetings, speaker presentations, and more.
  • Support internal communication campaigns including organizing events, developing collateral, and engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Communications, Public Relations, or Public Affairs.
  • Strong writing skills with ability to adapt to different audiences and channels (please submit writing samples with application).
  • Strong editing skills, with working knowledge of AP Style guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.
  • Basic graphic design skills – Photoshop, PowerPoint, Canva – preferred.
  • Blog and website publishing experience – preferred.
  • Project management experience – preferred.
