Job Summary:

 

The Regional Portfolio Innovation Lead will focus on the evolution of the US healthcare landscape in the western US and be seen by internal & external stakeholders as an Immunology Healthcare Market subject matter expert.  With a focus on patient, provider, and payer challenges, the innovator will collaborate with Key External Stakeholders to identify unique patient needs and process gaps.  They will create a strategic plan through consistent market assessment, definition of ecosystem segments and positioning of relevant and differentiated UCB Unique Value Propositions.  The goal of this position is to optimize patient clinical outcomes, seek reductions in total cost of patient care, and increase the Immunology patient experience. The Portfolio Innovation Lead will span across all Immunology Disease states including Rheumatology, Gastroenterology and Dermatology.  This position will be responsible for preparing for new product launches and develop strategic launch plans in partnership with the Brand Leads across the Immunology team.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

•  Lead the Strategic partnership between UCB Portfolio Innovation Team and key influential Executive Stakeholders which will include a comprehensive business plan for unique patient populations, Consolidated Systems, and Key Ecosystems. 

•  Understand Immunology Healthcare related trends and create Collaborations with like-minded stakeholders whom seek to prove clinical, economical, humanistic hypothesis.  Through Human Centered Design Methodology, develop a data body of evidence to support proof of concept.  

•    In partnership with HEOR counterparts, develop and execute on Patient Value Solutions that:
o    Create sustainable positive change across the US Healthcare Market.
o    Understand the body of evidence that needs to be developed to assist in opening managed care access for all UCB Immunology Products.
o    Identify and address care gaps that will improve the health of the Immunology patient population.
o    Strengthen UCB's partnerships by demonstrating our commitment to Patient Value- become the “preferred partner”.
•    Partner with Medical and Commercial Team Leads across Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, and Dermatology to understand market needs and align on education, evidence generation and access opportunities that optimize outcomes and improve practice processes to ultimately enhance disease management.

•    Proactively review market trends, policy updates, and patient needs.  Based on gaps in care, identify key stakeholders who share common hypothesis and collaboration opportunities within the US Ecosystem.
•    KOL management and Health Care Consultants – Identify Leaders in Population Health who can help to guide strategy development. 
•    Provide input to, and utilize findings from, market research studies dedicated to understanding needs of healthcare providers, turning customer insights into actionable programs that have a beneficial impact on the growth of the business.
•    Guide agency partners to develop the Strategy focused on the Quadruple Aim and the evolving market.
•    Develop a strong internal network across multiple functions to ensure successful, compliant solutions aligned the iPVU key strategic imperatives. 
•    Proficiency in internal processes including {Review Committee}, {ANFs}, {SOWs}, {CDA’s}, and Collaboration Agreement execution. 
•    Partner with brand teams to ensure successful execution of UCB’s Immunology strategy.
•    Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and vendor partners to foster a timely and accurate review process. Track activities to ensure project timelines and expenses are kept on scope and budget.
•    Cultivate KOL advocacy for current and future UCB Immunology products; ability to build strong relationships with customers and engage with thought leaders is critical.

 

This individual can work from the Smyrna, GA or West Coast UCB Office.

 

Qualifications:

 

•    Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.
•    Minimum 5-7 years’ specialty pharmaceutical sales, managed care, business development or marketing (3-5 years) experience.  
•    Prior Health System engagement experience strongly preferred.
•    Experience with payers and consolidated heath systems (i.e. supergroups, IDNs).
•    Demonstrated understanding of HEOR.
•    Ability to partner with Advocacy and Government organizations.
•    Experience with partnering with legal, regulatory and compliance teams.
•    Demonstrated evidence of proactively identifying issues and opportunities, making appropriate recommendations, and/or taking appropriate action, and gaining alignment to execute/get things done.
•    Strong interdependent partnerships, collaboration, influence & negotiation skills are required.
•    Strong process & project management skills and demonstrated ability to successfully execute complex initiatives.
•    Ability to function in a highly matrixed environment.
•    Excellent communicator with ability to deliver presentations internally and externally to groups of all sizes.
•    Must be willing to travel approximately 65% (including weekend travel as needed).
