To strengthen our Access and External Engagement Team in Northern Europe, we are looking to hire a Market Access Lead for Sweden, based in Sweden.

 

As the successful candidate for this key role, you will report to the Market Access & Country Lead to create a robust local Team to get optimal conditions of access for patients to new assets or already reimbursed products of UCB portfolio throughout their life cycle in selected franchise of neurology or immunology.
 

You like to work in an environment where you can:

 

  • Initiate and coordinate a range of ACCESS activities and be responsible for day-to-day project leadership, working with internal and external stakeholders and third parties to bring UCB therapies and Quality of Care to the patients in need.
  • Work in close partnership with the cross functional Ecosystem Team – nationally as well as internationally.
  • Anticipate, identify and address the needs of internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful development, P&R, access and commercialization of our portfolio.
  • Establish leadership and enduring partnerships, while raising the recognition of the value UCB brings to the Life Science community.

 

You will contribute by:

 

  • Country ecosystem analysis: activities that contribute towards developing a holistic understanding of the healthcare system and the implications for a specific asset / indication. Develops negotiation strategy based on patient value, including outcomes-based / innovative agreements, financing models where these can bring value.
  • Country evidence generation: Activities that help generating required evidence / data for an asset / indication e.g. real-world evidence, literature review, health economic data (epidemiology, burden of disease, budget impact models).
  • Country pricing and reimbursement strategy: Activities to define the optimized country approach to national list price /access for patients and to decisions on reimbursement status. Price negotiation with payers and hospitals (e.g. patient access schemes, tenders, rebates, discounts) & and related contract preparation.
  • P&R dossier: Preparation of submission documents for national or regional health technology assessment processes + national reimbursement and pricing filing.
  • Payer engagement: Active engagement with payers directly when possible, access decision makers and influencers at national and subnational levels (mapping, meetings, advisory boards, development of payer materials to support discussions and reimbursement e.g. formularies).
  • External engagement: Develops collaborations with payers, policy makers and consultants to improve UCB’s Payer value strategies and plans. Work closely with Field Payer Access to establish engagement plans and secure seamless execution.
  • Internal trainings & material development: preparation of value messages to support different departments (medical /commercial).
  • Excellence in launch readiness and execution: leads knowledge transfer of strategy and tactics from global to affiliate and supports effective preparation and implementation of access strategies.
  • Actively collaborate and contribute to the country cross functional Team in developing and executing innovative value solutions to deliver Brand Ambition, strategy and positioning.


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

 

  • Strong track record from Market Access in a pharmaceutical company or consultancy and/or as a Payer from the health care sector. In addition, you have experience with external stakeholder engagement and a passion for establishing partnerships internally and externally.
  • Capacity to deliver business solutions based on local opportunities, in alignment with the global and regional strategies.
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply principles, concepts, practices and
  • to prepare robust Pricing & Reimbursement dossiers for payers.
  • Strong background knowledge of industry trends and best practices, specifically related to Access, HEOR and RWE.
  • Education: University degree in Health/Life Science, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Health Economics, or other relevant scientific discipline.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and statistical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective Team player who can engender credibility and confidence within a matrix organization supporting the UCB values.
  • Result driven, business orientated and energetic self-starter with entrepreneurial mind-set and hands-on mentality.
  • Ability to articulate ideas and information in a clear, inspirational and pragmatic manner.
  • Languages: Fluent in local language and English.

 

You have at least 3 years of relevant experience and a strong track record of successfully delivering healthcare solutions and impact related to obtain and maintain Access.

The ideal candidate would have experience from healthcare industry or from the national payer environment or consultancy/agency. It will be an advantage if you have previous experience with Orphan Drugs, Immunology and/or Neurology.
