nPVU Head, Canada role is responsible for the implementation of UCB Patient Value Unit (PVU) strategies and tactics to maximize the creation of patient value and business opportunities within and across all ecosystems.  

 

Ensures delivery of nPVU Canada rEBIT commitments.

 

Orchestrates the activities of all external facing UCB roles involved in patient value creation, and pursuit of UCB organizational goals in Canada in achieving UCB’s financial and non-financial goals.

Leads the development and execution of tailored strategies for achieving nPVU strategic and financial goals within approved indications in partnership with specific stakeholders.  Coordinates the use of UCB resources “in the right places at the right times” to maximize patient value creation and appropriate use of UCB promoted assets. Coaches the team to achieve the goals and professional development.

 

Ensures UCB Operational Compliance to the highest professional standards.  The expectation is that ethics and compliance is an integral part of how we operate within the new Ecosystem Team environment.  Compliance violations may lead to disciplinary action including impact on annual appraisals.  Adherence to compliant behavior is an expectation at UCB.

 

Leads and develops teams on creating/managing integrated patient value solutions to improve patient experience and optimize treatment and in different patient environments.

Working in partnership with PVU, PVO and functions, assumes accountability for all patient value activities.

 

Key Activities:

  • Strengthens UCB impact on patient lives in neurology through the development of integrated solutions that impact patient experience and optimize treatment in specific patient environments.
  • Leads annual development of nPVU strategies and Patient Value Plans in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Establishes strategic and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders in local ecosystem (KOLs, Patient Organizations, Governmental Stakeholders, as well as internal resources)
  • Identifies emerging policies and trends in ecosystem and continuously leads to manage the change for patient value optimization through UCB solutions
  • Builds internal partnerships with key functions and stakeholders and monitors company asset utilization. (budgets, resources, human etc.)
  • Leads the development and improvement of PVS culture by embedding PVS principles into the Canadian nPVU team to establish a sustainable competitive advantage
  • Leads, engages and develops nPVU Canada team for high performance and continuously learning organization.
  • Leads from the front to ensure a culture of compliance in all initiatives and activities.
  • Leads cross-functional team to build out plan details, and to make modifications when necessary to reflect new market insights or changes in market dynamics.
  • Provides coaching and direction to all members of the team, and ensures that all team members have appropriate and up to date development plans in place.
  • Contributes to preparing country budget and plan, prepares and holds the budget responsibility in the ecosystem.
  • Develops personal relationships with key stakeholders to ensure he/she has direct access to information that can fuel insights.

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Annual Strategic Plan for Canada including budget inputs.
  • Determining optimal customer facing role mix required to deliver strategic plans.
  • Individual and team plans for customer facing team members with specific objectives tied to nPVU strategy.
  • Monthly monitoring and reporting on performance versus plan.
  • Ensure an exceptional experience for all key stakeholders.
  • Key contributor to revenue forecast projections.

Experience:

  • 10 + years of healthcare related sales, marketing, market access or medical experience
  • 5+ years of people management experience in healthcare
  • Proven experience in in leading multidisciplinary and or matrixed teams with cross-functional teamwork capabilities.
  • UCB internal applicants must have a performance rating of « meets expectations » or better on two most recent performance reviews.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing, developing, and influencing team.
  • Knowledge and application of business planning and leadership principles such as data analysis, goal setting, action plans, monitoring tools to develop and implement business plans.
  • Ability to achieve results within fast changing marketing environment.

Presents clear and concise information tailored to the stakeholder’s language.

Verifies progress in the stakeholder’s engagement cycle and appropriately create urgency to address needs and preferences of key decision makers.

Analyzes and conveys the impact on patient value when engaging with stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelors’ degree in life sciences, business or healthcare required.
  • M.B.A., PharmD, PhD or MD preferred.
