EU Pricing Lead / Evenity Lead

This role is to be based either at UCB Corporate Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium (preferred location) or UCB UK office in Slough, UK. This is a key global role within the Global Patient Access (GPA) Practice.  The successful candidate will be responsible for i) delivering the global pricing strategy in EU for Evenity, a recently EMA-approved product in osteoporosis (50% of time), and ii) leading EU operational pricing activities across the UCB portfolio such as preparation, approval & escalation of pricing business cases, acting as the global pricing partner to local affiliates in EU (50% of time). 


EU Evenity Global Pricing Lead: The successful candidate will be responsible for operationalizing the global price & access strategy for Evenity during the launch, becoming the main global pricing contact for affiliates:

•            Support the local affiliates during national and subnational price negotiations, ensuring the local strategy fits the global strategy, guiding local team to leverage the economic tools/pricing value story/objection handling for local pricing negotiation strategies

•            Support/co-create development of net pricing strategies or Value Based Agreements

•            Support the mitigation of risks related to biosimilar & generic entries at local level

•            Share launch learnings across countries and cross-fertilize regular local competitive intelligence for biosimilar & generic pricing


In addition to this, the successful candidate will also be the strategic pricing partner for global stakeholders (Evenity Commercial Team, Evenity Access subteam, Finance etc) and for our Industry Partner Amgen (Coordination of launch sequence & pricing strategy)


EU Pricing operations: the successful candidate will lead the EU operational pricing activities across the UCB portfolio:


-             Act as key pricing partner, trusted expert and thought-leader to the EU local pricing teams, establishing regular points of contact across countries, especially in the key 7 EU areas (EU5 + Northern Europe cluster + Southern Europe cluster)

-             Support the local affiliates prepare, analyze and escalate as needed any pricing business cases (i.e. indication expansions, launch of new SKUs, entering the reimbursed market, pricing change to respond to competitor entry, etc)

-             Identify evolving trends from the business cases (i.e. greater price transparency requests) and initiate workstreams to mitigate/utilize impact of such trends

-             Influence peers, cross-functional leaders and senior management during the discussion and escalation of the different business cases.


Finally, as a member of the Global Pricing team, the successful candidate will contribute to the management of the global pricing operations at UCB, including the run and maintenance of pricing governance (regional and global pricing committees, pricing boards, etc), optimization of different global pricing tools (pricing databased, dashboards, etc) and contribute to any projects related to UCB’s overall corporate pricing strategy.




The ideal candidate should be educated at least to MD, PharmD or graduate level in life sciences or economics; candidates who are likely to have a PhD and an MBA or similar qualification.       



•            Minimum 5 to /8 years of (hands-on) experience in designing global price & access strategies, overseeing market access, Health Economics/health outcomes-research or health policy – related projects and activities including economic modeling, HTA submissions, payer insights generation and reviews in Pharma or Biotech industry, consultancy, University research center or Health Technology Assessment body (e.g. NICE)

•            Extensive knowledge of both EU5 health care systems
