Harnessing cutting-edge science to deliver world-class experiences to focused patient populations

2018 marks the 90th anniversary of UCB. Throughout our 90-year journey, pioneering science, novel innovation and agile entrepreneurship have always been essential components in our company’s DNA.

As a global biopharmaceutical company focusing on neurology and immunology, we have world class expertise in R&D, an exciting world-class pipeline, and extensive access to networks of experts across the globe focused on meeting the unmet needs of patients.

Everything we do starts with a simple question: “How will this create value for people living with severe diseases”?

Across UCB, we are committed to helping focused patient populations reach unique outcomes, supporting patients to achieve their goals, improving individual experiences and enabling people to lead fulfilling lives.

Our unique combination of robust scientific excellence and our heartfelt commitment to improving the lives of patients genuinely sets us apart from our peers. Fundamental to this belief are the amazing people, doing amazing things across our organization. This is especially true for our New Meds, Dev Meds and Marketing Practices teams where colleagues have been working on one of our newest investigational medicines, rozanolixizumab, since its discovery.

Rozanolixizumab (Rozimab) is a novel, first-in-class subcutaneous anti-FcRn antibody therapy for multiple IgG autoantibody-mediated diseases such as Immune thrombocytopaenia (ITP), Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) and Myasthenia Gravis (MG).

In October 2018, we announced positive results from a phase 2 study for Rozimab in patients with MG, achieving proof-of-concept. Based on these results we are now accelerating our development programme.

MG, ITP and CIDP represent new therapy areas for UCB. We will need  to equip ourselves with the right knowledge, the right relationships, the right team members and the right mindset to learn as much as possible from patients, experts and advocacy organizations to ensure we create world-class patient experiences from the outset.

Ensuring our science is tailored to the in-depth insights about the needs of patients, care-givers and healthcare professionals will be critical to our success. Equally important will be to continue building on our extensive evidence base, combining first-class pre-clinical, clinical and real-world data to demonstrate our unique Rozimab value proposition.

We will engage with our stakeholders – patients, researchers, regulators, alliance partners, healthcare professionals, healthcare providers – to ensure we are forward-looking and flexible, and that our approach is tailored to their needs.

To create meaningful value for patients, it is very important to retain our unique patient centric approach and maintain an agility mindset. The scientific candor and energetic delivery which has been so successful over the last 90 Years is as vitally important today as it has always been.

This is no small task. However, the potential for us lead the way in to disrupting and improving the treatment landscape for thousands of people urgently in need of new options, makes this a challenge that is truly worthwhile.

With this in mind, we’re looking to complement our team help us realize our ambition…
