To strengthen our Launch Team within SSI, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Launch Statistician (LS) based in our Office in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

The LS is a role within Statistical Sciences and Innovation (SSI) to ensure, that new therapies after approval reach the right patients. Working closely with others in the SSI Launch team, he’s responsible for everything related to the successful launch and commercialization of new compounds. The LS helps UCB to successfully work with non-regulatory stakeholders such as payers, physicians and patients.

 

Typical activities of the LS include:

  • supporting the strategic publication plan anticipated possible future internal and external becoming available to create relevant evidence
  • indirect comparisons feeding into publications and HTA submissions
  • additional analyses required for HTA submissions of the phase III data
  • collaboration with RWE, medical affairs, and ecosystems on observational studies and other real-world data in terms of design and analyses
  • drive design and analyses of any other non-standard data sources
  • support KOL engagement activities supporting HTA and commercialization (advisory boards, publication meetings, HTA preparations, …)
  • actively participate in any internal preparations of launch activities especially on the global level but also on local levels for key markets

 

Interested? For this position, you’ll need the following educationexperience and skills:

 

  • Master’s degree in statistics (or equivalent) and at least 7 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Specific statistical knowledge is required in most of these areas:
    • indirect comparison and network meta-analyses
    • analyses of and design of observational studies (both prospective and retrospective)
    • pragmatic studies
    • data mining techniques
    • visualization of results and data, and
    • economic models and analyses
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal
  • Experience in communicating with all levels of personnel across various departments, in domestic and international environments
  • Potential to mentor and lead other statisticians
  • Ability to work under pressure and without close supervision
  • Able to adapt to change
  • Excellent personal leadership skills (networking, negotiation, communication)
  • Business knowledge about the pharmaceutical industry and US specific regulations for launch and commercialization of new products.
