To strengthen our Quality Control department, based in our hub in Braine, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Head of QC Support & Compliance.

As a Head of QC Support & Compliance you will manage the compliance team of Quality Control department and evaluate / update in a continuous way the main transversal business processes in place in QC department.

 

You like to work in an environment where you can:

Support projects, deviations and investigations within the department;

• Evaluate and propose ways-of-working to increase the safety culture within the QC department;

• Ensure testing strategy (In-Sourcing, Out-Sourcing, certification,….) is defined within each laboratory of QC department;

• Ensure on-boarding process is in place for each new comer within QC (training plan, job description,…) as well as off-boarding process. To maintain and review it when needed;

• Ensure interface with OE and HSE departments.

 

You will contribute by:

 

Operations

• Defining ways-of-working to follow OE standards within QC, implement it within the organization;

• Supporting, the continuous improvement of the QC department and audit its performance following existing roadmaps;

• Participating, when justified, to the elaboration of new projects linked to the development of the QC department;

• Participating, when justified, to the main investigations of the QC department;

• Ensuring an efficient interface with production plants, QA/RA, HSE, OE;

• Identifying and collecting all compliance and business risks within QC. Interacting with QA to score it and implement an action plan, when justified;

• Organizing daily meetings (Tier meetings) with team to follow-up, collect and give information. Ensuring that each one contribution is done in due time;

• Ensuring required corrective and preventive actions are taken and put in place;

• Ensuring follow-up of corrective actions and preventive actions. Ensuring audit readiness, participating to the preparation, the follow-up and the realization of audits;

• Implementing, follow-up and communicate on KPI with its related corrective actions;

• Informing stakeholders of the lab if deviations with impact on projects occur;

• Being accountable for a pro-active collaboration with different stakeholders.

 

HSE

• Key points of contact to HS&E department;

• Applying the company's Health and Safety policy within the laboratory.

 

Management

• Motivating, recognizing team members performance, behaviors and compliance of rules whilst firmly supporting team work and spirit. Manage conflicts;

• Increasing team’s competency by ensuring adequate training, coaching and development of people in function of the team and people potentials;

• Defining and communicating openly the objectives of individuals and of the department in accordance with the company’s strategy and formally assess the results with the adequate KPI (Key Performance Indicators) covering HSE, quality and overall performance both for the individuals and the team;

• Defining, communicating, putting in place and maintaining the organization which allows to reach these goals;

• Increasing team’s competency by ensuring adequate training, coaching and personal development plan in function of the team and people potentials;

• Ensuring continuous feedback with each team members;

• Ensuring job descriptions & training plan of people are in lign with the QC organisation.

 

Strategy

• Participating to the definition of strategy of Braine Quality Control;

• Following the QC mission and vision, and applying it to the lab support department;

• Developing a matrix organization to optimize customers satisfaction;

• Defining the Compliance team mission and vision in line with Braine Quality Control.

 

Finance

• Evaluating, controlling and reporting OE projects savings;

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Master’s degree required in sciences or equivalent;
  • Green Belt certification required, Black Belt preferred;       
  • 5 years of management experience;
  • 3 years of experience in laboratory management;
  • Experience in a ‘paperless environment’ is preferred;
  • Proven project leadership skills including planning, monitoring, issue resolution, investigations, decision making and reporting;
  • Must have a excellent GMP background and knowledge of Regulation Requirements;
  • Experience with FDA, European and Japanese investigators during on-site inspections, and experience interacting with Regulatory review staff on submission issues;
  • Understanding of all analytical disciplines related to CMC for late stage development and commercial products
  • Fluent in English & French
