IT Workplace & Service Lead

Job Description

Within the global UCB IT organization, IT User Experience group is playing a crucial role in the unified communications and collaborations environment of UCB. We are constantly transforming our workplace to enable our colleagues to work the way they work best.

And now we are looking to add a IT Workplace & Service Lead to engage with our internal and external partners and be a key stakeholder in driving our workplace strategy and end user experience.  

The role will interface with all local IT colleagues worldwide to provide a modern, secure, harmonized and well managed workplace for the end users.

Your main responsibilities

As the IT Workplace & Service Lead you will be in charge of the:

Global Workplace Management

  • Establishes and drives overall strategy of the digital workplace      
  • Ensure innovation and service improvements as new technologies emerge and become part of our digital offerings in the digital workplace      
  • Management and communication of UCBs global standards for client-side and industrial  computing and printing
  • Project management of projects that are directly impacting the workplace environment
  • Contract management

Security/Antivirus

  • Protection of all the client-side and server environments against potential attacks/intrusion.
  • Patch management of the client-side environment against potential attacks/intrusion.

Software Packaging & Distribution

  • Software Package provisioning and distribution for the client-side environment

Desktop Imaging and Policies

  • Setup, qualification, deployment and maintenance of the UCB build based on the approved computer standards
  • Definition and maintenance of the Global Desktop Policies

  • 10 years in the IT industry with proven exposure to a wide range of IT technologies.
  • 5 years proven experience in project management
  • Team leading & coaching
  • Good communication skills and possibility to work in global/multi-national environment
  • Budget management
  • Highly proficient in problem analysis and resolution.
  • Must be able to properly assess a problem and recognize when to escalate an issue if beyond personal level of expertise.
  • Effective management of expectations must be displayed with all issues to maintain
  • customer awareness and satisfaction.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an awareness of wider IT/IS knowledgebase and the ability to pro-actively involve colleagues to assist in problem resolution.
  • Fluent in English
