To strengthen our Global Supply Chain department, based in Braine l’Alleud, Belgium, we are looking to fill the position of: Global Supply Chain Training & Learning CoE Lead.

As a UCB Global Supply Chain Training & Learning CoE Lead you like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Act as a Change Enabler supporting UCB’s continued Patient Value Strategy Journey by Embedding GSC into UCB Company Culture & Talent strategy
  • Drive the execution of our corporate Talent strategy and specifics of our People & Culture workstream across our GSC community in dimensions of compliance, continuous learning and leadership developments.
  • Be Process Owner for Talent development and training as a partner for GSC LT and their teams to steer progress and secure qualified staff levels
  • Develop, on a global level, own and maintain the management of competency matrix, learning cycle, associated procedural documents and training aspects for SC staff to enable them to fulfil their job responsibilities in accordance with our quality standards, GXP, ICH guidelines, SOPs, processes and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA requirements) and support team and individual development plans.
  • Secure alignment of high qualification standards and profiles into job description and Operating model, especially for new hires and after organization change
  • Coordinate the onboarding program
  • Represent GSC in UCB GXP training community and deliver assigned actions within GSC



As a UCB Global Supply Chain Training & Learning CoE Lead, you will contribute by:

  • Defining Talent strategy implementation plan integrated to GSC transformation ambitions and priorities, setting clear ownership, governance and progress tracking tools.
  • Driving execution and reporting on progress of Training & Learning cycle while providing support in the GSC functions and communities
  • Orchestrating onboarding plan
  • Owning the competency matrix, learning cycle program, supporting skills gap assessment and resolution across GSC community in close partnership with respective leaders
  • Organizing bi-annual Leadership Forum and bi-monthly leader program, stimulate feedback and use it to continuous improvement
  • Ensure the organization and management of Procedural Documents and Training aspects for SC department (global and regional) and associated External Services Providers with the support and the coordination of the SC Training & Documentation operational administrator.
  • Develop, drive and sustain a lean process between documentation and training
    • SOP Management:
      • Advice and support SC staff with procedural document management best practices
      • Act as coordinator for the Controlled Document System (documents tracking, initiate and follow up changes/updates/reviews/approval of SOPs , ensure training and communication of SOPs and associated documents as appropriate)
    • Training Management:
      • Ensure availability of training materials for procedural documents impacting SC.
      • Support UCB employees and their managers in training obligations by ensuring the training plans and training curricula adequacy (creation and maintenance) including temporary personnel and contractors.
      • Develop and maintain in collaboration with line managers training curriculum, training plans and training matrices.
      • Establish, in collaboration with ECMS & LMS PDOs, sufficient control that support the lifecycle management of procedural documents and training for SC (Key Performance Indicators, quality standards and timelines of deliverables)
  • Ensure, from an operational standpoint, documentation & training inspection readiness for SC.
  • Collaborate with the management representatives to follow up staff completion of training plans and issue training reports upon request.
  • Oversee process of filing of staff qualification records (Job Description and CV) by the Training & Documentation operational Administrator in the appropriate system in the individual training files.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related processes, technologies and/or the quality of deliverables generated by the SOP and Training Management team for SC staff.

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s/Master's degree required with minimum 7 years of experience in the industry pharmaceutical)
  • Background in Continuous Improvement and/or HR Business Partnership/Talent Development and/or Governance
  • In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain & Manufacturing activities
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing change particularly within multi-cultural, E2E supply chain or Operations and virtual environments. 
  • Ability to work strategically and to influence individuals via networking without a direct reporting relationship. 
  • Relevant experience in process improvement/continuous improvement/lean/project or program management
  • Customer oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal, multi-cultural, verbal, and written English/French communication skills. Energetic, open communication style, tactful and diplomatic, with the ability to develop effective cross-functional relationships
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills. be able to effectively interact with and influence internal and external groups, including regulatory bodies and executive management.
  • Ability to articulate customers’ needs and concerns.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Content Management Systems – especially quality documents (Controlled Documents) & Learning Management System.
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint
  • Detailed orientated with the ability to keep the overview
  • Strong organizational/planning and co-ordination skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask, with the proven ability to take initiative.
