To strengthen our Bio DS External Manufacturing department, based in our site in Bulle, Switzerland, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: External Manufacturing Operations Lead for Bio Drug Substances.

As an External Manufacturing Operations Lead you will manage biological Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) to ensure the supply of biological Drug Substances with the required quality, quantity, timing and cost, following established quality and manufacturing agreements.

In your role, you will use UCB long term sourcing/supply strategies for clinical and commercial products to meet the 10YP demand.

You will contribute by:

  • Lead efficient Operational Management of CMOs for the production of biological Drug Substances
  • Ensure implementation of UCB External Manufacturing Operational strategy by providing first line Technical Expertise
  • Lead the Preparation, Monitoring and Closure of manufacturing campaigns of Drug Substances at CMOs for Clinical, Launch and Commercial supply
  • Ensure availability of Source Documents (technical reports from CMO) in a timely manner for Product Registration
  • Lead initiatives to Identify, Implement, Change and Optimize External Manufacturing Operations (process continuous improvements)
  • Ensure monitoring of Manufacturing Operational KPIs and risks
  • Organize, Plan, Follow the operational support provided by a Consultant
  • Provide support to product registrations and elaboration of answers to questions from Health Authorities.
  • Travel to CMO or other UCB sites, as required (~10%)

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Minimum Education level: Master’s degree in Life Sciences.
  • Minimum 8 years in biotech / biopharma industry, in a bio-manufacturing role.
  • Expertise in bio-manufacturing processes and in technical documentation writing and review.
  • Experience in project management and in the management of outsourced activities.
  • Strong communication skills, excellent spoken and written English (C1), French is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of the cGMP concepts
  • Autonomous and rigorous.
  • Out-of-the-box approach for problem solving.
  • Team working mindset.
