TALENT OPERATIONS ADVISOR12 Month Contract - Part Time 24 hours per week

Summary

UCB Canada is a Biopharmaceutical company that addresses Patient needs in the Immunology and CNS Disorders therapeutic areas, primarily focusing on Rheumatology, Psoriasis, Epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease.

We are currently seeking a part-time (24 hours per week) Talent Operations Advisor/HR Generalist for up to a twelve months contract to cover various HR needs of the Canadian affiliate. This role will report to the Talents Operations Lead for UCB US, with dotted line to the Business Partner Head (BPH) for UCB Canada. The Canadian affiliate is supported by a HR shared services model that oversees payroll, benefits and other related functions. This person will aim to drive efficiencies within the model.

 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Be the subject matter expert on all Talent Operation needs in UCB Canada and support the affiliate by liaising with the Talent Operations team in the US
  • Responsible for educating the Talent Operations team, in reference to Canadian related employment standards; this includes but is not limited to compensation and benefits
  • Responsible for reviewing and advising on employee master data adjustments within the Talent systems
  • Support the BPH manage employee relations for the affiliate as well as address various activities related to employee life cycle within UCB Canada
  • Support the affiliate on local hiring needs by liaising with internal and external stakeholders to recruit Talent
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as Legal counsel and vendors on affiliate employment related matters
  • Support the BPH manage Talent/HR Policies by ensuring Canadian employment standards are considered
  • Support the affiliate by facilitating Training and Development with support from internal and external resources
  • Support the affiliate to develop business cases and analysis as needed
  • May be required to lead ad hoc projects, such as possible vendor or system changes
  • Other duties and tasks as deemed necessary

 

Skills/Knowledge Required:

Educational Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in HR is required
  • CHRP Designation or in final stages of CHRP is required

Industry Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years HR experience within the pharmaceutical / biotech industry is preferred

Technical Experience:

  • Similar experience within industry will be considered a huge asset and preferred
  • Sound knowledge on Canadian employment standards is required
  • Payroll and Benefits management experience is required
  • Employee relations experience is a must
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams is a must
  • Recruiting experience will be an asset

Systems and Software Experience:

  • Working knowledge of HR Systems such as SAP HR, SAP SuccessFactors is an asset
  • Must be literate in Adobe, DocuSign and MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Soft-Skills and Other:

  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to lead and partner with various functional areas as well as problem-solve
  • Process improvement experience is key
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills is required
  • Must have the ability to work independently and take the lead role on assigned projects
  • Willingness to travel if needed
