To strengthen our Global Clinical Sciences and Operations team, based in Raleigh, NC, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Clinical Project Manager Team Lead


As a Clinical Project Manager Team Lead you like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Lead and manage a team of approximately 10 Senior/Clinical Project Managers based in US/EU/Asia.
  • Ensure that the CPM team delivers well-designed patient centric protocols, integrating industry-leading technology, producing high quality data within budget and timelines.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance and support to less experienced CPMs to enable their development.
  • Collaborate & partner with all our internal and external stakeholders such as Missions, Strategic Partners, Patients and Investigators.


You will contribute by:

  • Being a manager, coach and mentor for assigned CPMs and ensure highest standards and encourage/support personal and performance development, and represent the CPM team outside the department
  • Providing operational support to CPMs, for the Clinical Development Programs of UCB to ensure that all clinical trial activities are planned optimally and competitively vs. industry benchmarks, conducted as planned and within budgets.
  • Allocating CPM resources as required, to clinical trials in collaboration with Head of CPM
  • Ensuring accountability by assigned CPM to fully contribute to the delivery of clinical trials
  • Ensuring adherence to planned study budget and timelines in collaboration with assigned CPMs and PDLs, identify project risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Leading or participate in activities that provide operational structure for GCSO
  • Acting as a Subject matter expert for special topics of interest


Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree needed with an advanced degree of PhD preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and/or CRO industry is required.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional projects in a global environment.
  • Clinical development experience as a Clinical Project Manager or a similar role is preferred.
  • Ideally line management experience is preferred but not required.
