Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Protein Biochemist with experience in antibody engineering and production to join a bispecific antibody engineering team.  The role will focus on providing protein purification expertise and antibody engineering knowledge, to support the development of new antibody based therapeutic projects and technologies. 


You will work as part of the team based at our world class research centre in Slough, UK.


Primary Responsibilities

Working within the New Modality Therapeutics Group, you will be part of a team that is responsible for developing new antibody based therapeutic formats.  This will include the development and implementation of new ideas and the support of therapeutic projects from conception to clinical development.


The main aspect of the role will be the production of antibody and antibody like molecules, including their design, expression, purification and structural understanding.  You will also be responsible for incorporating detailed quality analysis into this work. 


Practical experience in protein purification, protein analysis, and protein engineering are essential. You will be a flexible, team player with a drive to deliver; have good communication and presentation skills; and thrive in an exciting research environment.


Essential Requirements

  • The position would suit a recent PhD or experienced MSc/BSc graduate with demonstrable relevant practical experience in protein engineering and production. 
  • A sound understanding of antibody and protein structure, engineering, production and analysis.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team; have good communication skills; and be able to operate autonomously prioritising your work appropriately.
  • The ability to invent and implement innovative ideas.
